Armed Services/Homeland Security Committee of the National Federation of Republican Women offers this site to assist Clubs and State Federations develop outreach to our military and their families. Supporting our military is our mission. What an opportunity we have with our great pool of talent and experience the ASC/HLS Committee is blessed with; imaginative, inventive, and effective. We need the State and Club Presidents energy and their innovative ideas and their commitment to make it all happen. Our former ASC committee started so many pilot programs that have succeeded. We need to recapture some of these great projects and select from those and along with our new suggestions and ideas which will be forthcoming when we meet in Oklahoma City. We will also have a projects page and a local Club and State Federation Form for the WEB after the meeting.

Mission Statement

The goal is to educate Federation Members about preventing terrorism, preparing for an attack, and protecting our families by being extra observant and observing the three "Cs"; using CRITICAL Judgment, spreading CAUTION, and CALLING the authorities.

The NFRW AS/HSC Vice Chair will disseminate information and provide material on the website.

State Armed Service Committee/Homeland Security Chairs are appointed by State Presidents and are members of the State Board of Directors.

State Chairs appoint committee members from around the state and provide their names and contact information to the NFRW AS/HSC Security Vice Chair.*

When giving the committee report at state meetings, ask those in attendance to contact you about them becoming "Homeland Security Beacons". You will "beam out" alerts, reports and other important information to the "beacons" who will in turn contact those on their email notification lists.

Local Club Chairs are appointed by the Club President. She may also appoint a committee. The Chair's role is the same as the State Chair, except that she recruits "beacons" from within her club, and writes and speaks at that club.

Committees are encouraged to write about Republican Homeland Security Policies for the Federation Newsletter and for state and local newspapers.

*Barbara McAndrew is serving as the Vice Chair and can be reached at bettyfain@charter.net.
