Armed Services Committee Fisher House Project
A major project of the NFRW Armed Services Committee is to donate
money for the construction of an additional Fisher House at
the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Fisher
Houses across the country and overseas are built to house the
families of service men and women who have been severely wounded
or ill and separated from their families. The Fisher Houses
provide a home away from home. The Fisher House program is a
unique private-public partnership that supports America's military
in their time of need. In the future more detailed information
will be provided through the NFRW web site.
For all Clubs within all fifty states to participate, the Armed
Services Committee has provided a voucher form with instructions
on how the donated monies are to be transmitted to the Fisher
House Foundation. By using this voucher, credit can be given
to the individual clubs and their state, and individual donors
and their state. Clubs can accept money from any source beyond
club members for this important work for our military. All checks
transmitting the money must be made out to the Fisher House
Foundation. The voucher form may be obtained on the NFRW web
site. All instructrions are included on the NFRW Armed Services
Committee Donation Collection Voucher. The Fisher House Foundation
is a not-for-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of
the IRS code, and donations are tax deductible to the maximum
extent allowed by law.
